What has caused by battery to fail?

There are several factors which can cause a battery to fail, the most common is leaving a conventional battery in a discharged state for an extended period of time.

The second most common cause is allowing the electrolyte level to fall too low. This is Not an issue with maintenance free, sealed or gel battery's.

Deep discharging is aNother common cause of failure. Every time the battery is deeply discharged, some of the active material drops off of the plates and falls to the bottom of the battery case. If eNough of this material accumulates in the bottom of the case it will kill the battery.

Neglecting you motorcycles battery may reduce it performance or kill it completely.

A Battery is a Battery! So far so good. Like the delivery service with pic sent to my email address. Would be nice to know wether parts are in stock BEFORE ordering however, so as to avoid a (to my mind) unneccessary wait. Would still use AJ Sutton again.

Pleased with the prompt delivery but disappointed that the battery was not supplied ready to be used. The sulphuric acid topping up liquid was not included and when I 'phoned about this I was told the price was an extra £10. Fortunately I have an excellent motor cycle shop near me who kindly filled the battery for me.
